May Update, 2024

Dear friends,

We praise God for giving us the gift of faith and for opening our eyes to see and understand the eternal perspective. While we are citizens of a certain country and we have certain duties, in Christ, we are in fact citizens of a unshakable and eternal kingdom, we have marvellous promises and we have a unchanging and Almighty heavenly and eternal Father who promised that He will be with us and in us to help us reach the destination.

As parents, we are at that stage in life where our little children are not...little anymore and along with their physical, emotional and spiritual growth come more and more challenges. They are our biggest mission field.

Tori continues her harp practice and she becomes better and better. Eventually we will have to buy her a bigger harp which is not going to be cheap. Harps are very expensive  but we have a generous and powerful God. He helped us buy the harp that we have right now and we are confident that He will provide again. Pray that Tori will learn to trust God in this matter and this will become a milestone in her walk with the Lord. Dena still plays piano in church and has developed an introvert style of communication.:). Marc resumed his soccer practice and started to lift some weights and kick a punching bag. Sometime his sisters become his punching bag.:)

In May, we took a long awaited trip to France. My wife started to prepare for this trip a year ago. Our oldest nephew, Timotei, got married. He is Carmen's oldest son. Carmen is Mihaela's sister who lives in France. We praise God for protection on the road ( 4 days round trip) and for the fact that we were able to enjoy many special moments that will turn into wonderful memories. The kids were super excited by this amusement park, something that we don't have in Romania.

The medical office

We praise the Lord for helping us find a Christian man who will do the tile for our medical office. He was willing to do it for a half price. He will do the project at the beginning of August.

Lately we have noticed some moisture coming out of some of the walls and we were worried that we might have a big moisture issue. But fortunately that is not the case. We had an engineer coming to do some testing and he said that the walls are dry. We believe it's some surface moisture in the drywall. The building walls are made out of red brick. So all we need to do is repaint the walls and do some minor repairs.

Along with that we have started the paper work. Getting the permits from the local officials is a slow and complex process but we pray that the Lord will give us favour and He will lead the way.

Pulse ministry

At Pulse we serve a variety of women each month. Each of them has her own story and each story is unique in itself. One day three ladies showed up the Pulse at the same day. The unique thing about them is that they are sisters and two of them are pregnant. All of them came for counselling and not for the material help.

In fact, we are seeing more and more women who all they need is somebody to listen to them. Some of them are single mothers who struggle raising their babies, some of them have lost their hope along the way, some of them had abortions in their lives and this has triggered other traumas that they are not aware of and so on. We are so glad that God is using the Pulse center to bring hope and help at the right time.

This particular woman came to us two years ago when she was pregnant and in very bad shape. After two years in our program we are seeing amazing results. She has a stable relationship with her husband, her self esteem has grown, her willingness to help others has grown, her understanding of God's ways has grown. We've seen these these types of results in almost every woman we've been working with and we praise God for that. On top of everything this particular couple has been able to build a small house for their family, she is expecting again and they are very happy about it.

We are so grateful for an amazing team at Pulse: Adina, our center director, Nicoleta and Emilia, social workers and Larisa, our psychologist.  This week we had our regular meeting when we discuss issues related to work but amazingly enough soon after we started talking about administration, the Holy Spirit guided our conversation in such a way that we ended up praising God for His amazing works in us and through us, His mighty works along the way and everything turned out into a small worship service and a wonderful fellowship, tears of joy, prayer and singing. We do serve an amazing God and He deserves all the glory!

The impact of the purity program. A report from IOANA, our purity presenter in Oradea

May was a profitable month. I was able to reach 1,300 students with the purity message. Getting the approvals to go into schools has been so much easier this past year.  A vast majority of teachers believe in our message. We thank God for giving us favor. I meet more and more students who start their sexual lives at 12 or 13 years old. This month I met a student who was in the 12th grade and she already had her first baby three years ago. She got pregnant when she was in 9th grade. I kindly asked her to share her testimony at the class. By my surprise she accepted. This was her first time and she openly shared her testimony in front of her class. She told us about the struggles she went through and the difficulties of continuing the school while pregnant and after she gave birth. The entire class was speechless and and they all listened to her very quietly. I believe her testimony really impacted the audience. Soon this girl will graduate 12th grade and get ready for college. Pray for her that the Lord will cross her paths in the future and He will win her heart and she will become a follower of Christ. Pray for me, and for a special anointment every time I speak in front of the students.Thank you for supporting this wonderful and very much needed program!

God's provision

Our dear friends and brothers from UK, Gordon and Nigel visited us again and they bought diapers...lots of diapers. We are so thankful for their friendship and support!

The countdown for the camp has begun

We are less than a month away and the preparations for the Pulse camp are in full swing. We are happy for a young couple from the States who will come and help, Tiffany & Branden. Pray for safety as they travel.

Prayers requests

  • for protection for Tiffany & Branden as they travel to Romania to help us with the camps

  • for all the children who will attend the camp

  • for the medical clinic

Thank you for your partnership

The ministry of My Brother's Keeper and the Pulse Center is made possible because God has been using people like you who give generously and faithfully.
